Structural Decay Reference Guide

When fire in a box becomes a box on fire.

The Structural Decay Reference Guide catalogs 50 structural components and connection systems, explaining how they behave—and how they can fail—under fire exposure.

Then it goes one step further with Decay Assessment Time, or DAT: a conservative assessment point informed by the available fire endurance and failure research, prompting the fire officer to reassess the exposed component.

The SDRG also identifies Hidden or Unknown Structural Hazards—HUSH—and brings the supporting research into view.

Explore the component catalog, use the guide in training, or examine documented fires, their structural assemblies, and the questions they raise.
